Extremely warm with style! Great for the outdoors in late fall or even winter. One of a kind sweatshirt for sure with the warmth of a coat. These are a must have during cold days working outside, beat all other brands I’ve tried and they’re durableHeavy duty hoodie we can put that hoodie over our helmet works great keep us really warm we love them. It's like wearing to hoodies stitched together. If your working in your hoodie or want an extra heavyweight hoodie, this is the only way to go. It's a little short and fits a tighter than other hoodies. But it's actually twice as thick.Really wanted to like it. I took away one star, for one reason only.I really wanted to like it. It was an awesome sweatshirt, with what turned out to be, one fatal flaw for me. The hood was just too generous. It's meant for wearing over a hardhat and it's oversized. But for me, the hood is an important part of the sweatshirt, because so much heat escapes from your head. I wanted this to be warm and therefore, the hood is important. It's a solid hood, and probably very warm. But just too large for me. If you can imagine the grim reaper, with the face sunken into his hood, that is exactly how I felt. While that may be warm, it's not really functional for me. I need to see. I could fold back the extra some, but that really didn't appeal to me. So the hood turned out to be a deal breaker for me and I returned it. If it wasn't so expensive, I would have tried it out for awhile and maybe gotten used to the hood, but out of the box, it just didn't work for me.Having said that, this sweatshirt is second to none in every other way. It's VERY heavy. It's basically double thick. Think of your heaviest sweatshirt (i.e. Carhartt) and then imagine the material double thick. The construction looked very solid and I think I could have really liked the snaps on the hood, had it not been so large. I like the "trim" fit. I can see where some people might say this is "undersized" but I thought the fit was good.I am 6' 1" tall and I weigh right at 190 (from 188 to 192). I have a 34 inch waist and usually am right between a L and XL for most things. I order XL most times, because I don't like things too tight. I would say I have a thinner, perhaps athletic build, but not stocky (as in large chest, arms). I ordered the XL and I was happy with the fit. The sleeves were plenty long (sans washing). I usually order dress shirts 16 1/2 to 17 with a 37 inch sleeve and again, this sweatshirt sleeve length was very good. It fell just below my belt for torso length and I think a TALL would have been too long in the torso and the sleeves. As I said, it was a pretty "fitted", not much baggy about this sweatshirt. I understand that is by design as most people working in the field do not want to fight baggy clothes.I hope this information is helpful. When I first came across this hoodie on Amazon, I was interested. After reading the rave reviews, I was hooked. But, $80-90 for a hoodie - seriously? I just couldn't pull the trigger. So I spent some time checking out the Arborwear site and their videos. Then, came back to Amazon and found it on sale for 60 some odd bucks. A couple days later, it arrived.First impression - yes, this is truly a heavyweight hoodie. Looks great, perfect fit, comfortable and very warm - met or exceeded my expectations.I am 5'10" 175lbs and the large fits just right. I typically wear a large for sweatshirts and this is true to size. It is not snug nor baggy - basically, it fits comfortably and allows for a full range of motion without feeling constricting. While not all brands have consistent sizing, I found many of the reviews here helpful in determining the right size for this particular hoodie. (Thanks!)The henley button neck is also a huge plus. While the buttons do not extend as low as a typical henley shirt, they do provide enough of an opening to make the neckline comfortable versus the snugness you might get from other hoodies. The snap placket is also nice for loosening up / venting when you come in from the cold. The hood itself is oversized - somewhat overwhelming when worn up, but also lays flat when down.As for the hoodies thickness & warmth .... this is a hoodie like no other. I have dozens of hoodies from Oakley to North Face to Dakine and others, all of which are great - yet, this Arborwear hoodie is in a class all of its own in regards to warmth & thickness. If I want to stay warm on a cool day, I'll wear one of my other hoodies. If I want to stay warm on a cold day (Michigan winters), I'll wear the Arborwear.(Actually wore it today, no jacket needed ... it was 15 degrees, windchill of about 5, and felt comfortably warm).Bottom line, if you're looking for a rugged, well made hoodie that's comfortable & warm - this is it.Given the typical going rate for a quality "heavyweight" hoodie (about $50 - or more), this one is worth the few extra bucks - it is extraordinarily warm, yet still practical enough for an active lifestyle. In other words ... it's awesome!order a size larger than you normally would. XL is bit tight on me and that is my normal comfortable size shirt. This is by far the warmest sweatshirt I’ve ever owned. Everyone at work makes over this sweatshirt all the time. Wants to know where I purchased it at. Super fast exchange on sizing and does tend to run a size smaller then you normally wear. Other than that this is the perfect sweatshirt.I feel like a lesser person whenever I take this hoodie off. It is one of the most comfortable and warm things Ive ever worn.. it's -25C here and going out with a wool sweater with this over it is better than any jacket I've had. Not saying it's warmer than an Arctic down jacket but it's so big and roomy that wearing layers is much more.. possible.I also love this hoodie because I play skip in curling, so all I do is stand around and get cold.. this hoodie not only keeps me ridiculously warm, it lets me pretend I'm a sith lord if I put the hood on so I can incite terror into my opponents souls!5/5This sweater definitely did not disappoint. Its heavy, thick, and big enough to add layers underneath if need be.The hood buttons up and acts as a scarf, keeping your neck warm.Ideal for camping or light out door activities. However, I did find this too warm to work with. After about 15 minutes I would have to take it off. Though, that's not necessarily a bad thing. This hoodie is everything I hoped for. I have been wearing it for 3 months now, I have washed it a few times in cold and tumbled on low heat.It is hands down the best hoodie I have ever owned. I was very this past winter here in Kelowna BC and wearing it to and from the oil rig I was working on in northern Alberta. It can basically be your jacket if your not spending a lot of time outside. The no draw string snap style hoodie is game changing. The way the hood lays when your not wearing it is much more comfortable with the open snap style. The oversized hood is great too for its weight and taking naps in your car or if your waiting somewher. The front pocket is much better than any hoodie I have owned before. It's sewn angled up and I have never had anything fall out. The pocket flap is very thick too.The entire hoodie is just thick and solid.I'm 5"11 and 200 pounds and a large is great. It's still very roomy and doesn't feel or look sloppy.I think an extra large would have been over kill.Just order it. It has held up very well over the last few months still looks and feel brand new. You will experience zero buyers remorse. The chestnut color is what I recommend, it looks great with everything.I read all the reviews I could find and they were all right. This sweater is very heavy and warm. It's so thick it acts as a wind breaker too. The hood is very large but not too big, which is great if you have a giraffe neck like me. The buttons for the hood work well. They keep the wind out without dragging the hood down over your eyes. If you do up the buttons and pull the hood down they kind of create a neck warmer which is great. I am a carpenter/fisherman and have had this on in 0 degrees Celsius by itself. An XL fits me great I have an athletic build on the slender side and it's loose but not overly baggy, great for work not constricting at all. For reference I am 6'3” 215lbs. The sleeves are long enough for me and so is the body. The only way I could improve it for me is if the body was a couple inches longer. I put both hands over my head quite a bit and it will expose my stomach. Don't get me wrong, the sweater is a good length personally for a work sweater I'd like it longer plus my height doesnt help. This is my first Arborwear purchase and I will definitely be getting more.I work outside, and my arborist friend recommended this sweater. I can wear this sweater with just a Tshirt under and be comfortable at - 10C. I layer if it's colder
