Hi I have purchased several pairs of Mephistos over the years and have always been pleased with them. My recent pair of these Harrison‘s is no exception. The fit is real good, skid resistance is more than adequate and they have a nice look and appear just as they do in the photographs you can see on Amazon. The only downside is that they are rather heavy. They were “OK” though not “great” for a month-long trip in Europe.I have just replaced 12 pair of shoes with Mephistos. Yes I like them that much!I bought the taupe version. This is not a cheap pair of sneakers and sadly they are not my most comfortable pair. The cushioning at the forefoot is minimal and the insole is very thin. You can feel every crack while walking on cobbkestone. The shoes also squeak very loudly, even after many miles of break in. For me, the cuff is too high, and rubs against my ankle. I like the taupe color as it does not show dirt very much, but any little water droplets show very easily. Not the best shoe for standing at the urinal… otherwise, the shoes are pretty well constructed. Leather lining inside is nice. Unfortunately, the shoe sits in a “bathtub” of a rubber outsole. The effect is that your toes are not able to spread properly as you walk. After more than 5 miles today and now lots of blisters, I would gladly trade them for my old pair of Scarpas back. Overall, I’m not impressed with my first pair of exorbitantly expensive Mephistos.
